Background History

In September 1993, some challenge taker students and graduates of Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) took some initiatives to set up an enterprise in the field of software development and computer systems engineering. The enterprise was named as ‘Integrated Computer Services (BD) Ltd’ and got enlisted from the joint stock of companies & firms of Bangladesh. The venture made significant progress in software development and training, computer systems design and networking, hardware supply, installation and maintenance etc in various organizations out of which computation of billing system of Bangladesh Telephone & Telegraph Board (BTTB) is quite mentionable.

In the middle of 1996, the prime entrepreneurs of the original enterprise started a marketing wing named ‘Spider Marketing Corporation’ which was a 3rd generation marketing approach and attracted huge public response in the western part of Dhaka. One of its iconic versions was instant order collection with home service delivery system.
In December 1997, the entrepreneurs initiated another new development venture named ‘Minarat Housing Estate (Pvt.) Ltd’ whose first project was to construct a 10-storeyed apartment building named ‘Lake Garden’ in 110, Lake Circus, Kalabagan, Dhaka.

It was the first step of the enormous real state and township development programs of ICS business group. In a very short time, other two projects were completed by the same entrepreneurs- ‘Crystal Garden’ in Gulshan park road and ‘Dizen Garden’ in Lake Circus, Kalabagan. In the meantime, a new initiative was taken to build ‘Xenovalley Model Town (Pvt) Ltd’, a planned satellite model town in Khilkhet area in joint venture with a Malaysian business group. It was Bangladesh’s first satellite model town mostly named as ‘The PinkCity Xenovalley’. Now-a-days, it has become one of the most attractive architectural sites for eco-home residence in the capital city of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

In order to contribute more in constructions of residential and commercial buildings and to build planned satellite model towns, two joint-venture companies were formed-‘Xenovalley Malaysia Sdn Bhd’ and ‘Xenovalley Model Town UK Pte Ltd.’ Although there were huge challenges to overcome, finally in 2002, country’s most prestigeous project named “The PinkCity Xenovalley” started its journey on 300 Bighas (approx 100 Acrs) land situated in Dumni, Barua Mauja, Khilkhet Thana. ‘The PinkCity Xenovalley’ has already become the most popular destination in the Metropolitan city of Dhaka with its more than 500 number of Duplex private residential homes which has got systematically planned and service-conducted roads, parks, lake, mosque and other facilities. There are also future provisions for a modern condominium building, Hospital & Medical College, a four-to-five star hotel with shopping complex, central Masjid cum Islamic Center etc in same compound.

Continuously following the path of success of ‘PinkCity Xenovalley’, many new ventures started their journeys to contribute in different sectors and fields such as Bangla Bosoti, Royel Park, Rivera Maya, ParkCity Resort and some other enterprises under the umbrella of Rivera Parkcity (Pvt) Ltd. Among the diversification of this group the Rivera ParkCity has got significant recognition for its extra-ordinary presentation of its new version of tropically landscaped duplex, Triplex, Quadruplex Semi-detached, Twin-detached, Semi-terraced, Twin-Terraced, Full-detached (Bungalow) homes for the city dwellers. In the western part of Dhaka and in the nearby area of the conserved forestry of the National Zoo, the location of the Rivera ParkCity is unique for highway circulation.

In first phase of Bangla Bosoti there are approximately 500 special type of Triplex homes named Townhomes, Terrace Homes, Garden Homes and there are 4 phases in primary planning. All homes are fully gated and guarded from the outside environment, but internally decorated with service-conducted road network, electronically controlled access system, harmoniously designed and constructed landscape with the taste of tropical climate of Bangladesh. There is a planned zone for the Club House with a swimming pool, tennis court and other essential community facilities.

The most significant achievement of this group is supposed to be the dynamism with far-sightedness in strategic planning. While developing housing projects in discrete building blocks, the management could foresee the immense necessity of providing harmonious accommodation of the essential amenities and services for its dwellers within the boundaries of the estate. The discrete and isolated approach of developing ‘here and there’ building blocks of this time will be an obvious to change into long-term integrated housing system.
